THE UFOLOGY
REQUIRES PROTECTION
Boris SHURINOV

This passage about Stonehill,
Mantle
and their silly book “The Soviet UFO
Files”
is extracted from my lecture in Cosenza,
Italy,
October, 8, 2005, presented in
PowerPoint.
The
ufology requires protection against liars and debunkers. Especially against
liars and debunkers within the ufological community.
My goal will be
to show the debunkers spoiling the image of the Russian ufology both in
Russia, and in the world. |
|
|
This book is the best
collection of falsifications, gossips and profanation of the Russian ufology. |

|
|
In Foreword Philip Mantle writes:
| «The
Soviet UFO Files, with its ground-breaking text and wealth of previously
unpublished photographs…
For the
first time, an established Russian UFO researcher brings the mysteries
of the phenomenon to the attention of the Western world and reveals
startling information that has never previously been seen outside Russia.» |
So, we have
«ground-breaking text» and «wealth of previously unpublished
photographs».
Let us begin with «previously
unpublished photographs». |
|
 |
This object was seen
in the vicinity of another nuclear power plant days before the disaster
of Chernobyl.
P. 69
|
|
|
It is known that
this photograph has nothing to do with the disaster at Chernobyl.
The photo was taken in Tiksi,
Yakutiya, on November 21st, 1959. (Yakutiya is located in the high latitudes.)
The story is published in the
newspaper Komsomolskaya pravda in 1961 (January 8, 1961).
By the way, Adolf Schneider
and Hubert Nalthaner mention this optical effect in their book "Das Geheimnis
der unbekannten Flugobjekte» (1975). |
|
|
The book in question is wealth
of such «previously unpublished
photographs»
without any connection with UFOs.
|
|
What
is necessary to sell silly books about the Soviet UFO Files?
Yes, you have guessed.
It is necessary to mention « KGB » as often as possible.
 |
«This glowing UFO, sighted over
Moscow, has been just one of many investigated by prominent KGB officials.»
P. 78.
|
|
|
The previous photograph
with the monument to Youri Dolgoruky (founder of Moscow) and the «glowing
UFO investigated by prominent KGB officials» has nothing to do with
UFO and KGB.
It is one of many photographs
made by the correspondent of the newspaper Komsomolskaya
pravda I.Gricher. Gricher saw the photo from Tiksi and did many
successful photos with optical effects in the center of Moscow.
One can read the story of the
published photograph in Komsomolskaya pravda
(January, 8th, 1961). |

This «never published»
was published many times. It has noting to do with Russia.

Handbooks. 1999.
|
|
|
Instead of «wealth
of previously unpublished photographs», promised by the consultant
of the book, we have wealth of published photographs without any connection
with UFOs.
To be more precise, everything
was published. Published many times. As far as UFOs are concerned, don’t
waste your time. There is nothing in this book.
There are many photographs
of launchings in Russia.

|
These photographs are known
all over the world.

In my archives there are many
photographs of launchings in Russia.

P.88
|
|
|
Crash? Blatant lie.
|
|
The crash in Zigansk
was invented by A. Anfalov.
Anfalov knows that
the extraterrestials are falling
from the sky regularly.
The consultant
of «The Soviet UFO Files» Philip
Mantle signed with Anton Anfalov an
article about
a lot of crashes in Russia. |
|
|
P.121 This fake is very
beautiful. But it is a fake.
|
|
I have the best copy of this
fake.
Does it meen I must dupe the others
like Stonehill and Mantle?
|
|
THIS TIME TWICE.
WHY NOT?
Everything is good if there is no text, if there is no interesting
photograph.
P.103
|
P.122
|
|
|
They put everything in their silly
book. Even...
|
P.26 |
|
P.35
|
|
|
|
Stonehill writes: - It is not a
hoax.
Sorry, it is a well known fake
made by Dima Girenko.
|
P.39
|
|
|
|
The next story is a very successful
attempt to show «unpublished photos» in combination with «ground-breaking
text».
|
|
This «ground-breaking
text» is really breaking...
What are they speaking about, these
«ground-breaking» ufologists?
|
|
Here we see a «cone-shaped UFO».
Do not
forget this mysterious
«…has
never been settled…»
|
|
|
Janvier - Fevrier 1991 |
Entretien avec Boris Shurinov
In 1991,
I knew that it was a movie prop. |
|
In 1994, Roberto Pinotti received
a letter from Poland with photographs of a «movie prop»: «just
film’s decoration».
|
|
UFO Magazine - 1995
|
|
| So, with the movie prop everything
is clear.
But in 1998,
an «established Russian UFO researcher»/debunker brings the
so-called mystery to the attention of the Western world.
What does he generally know in ufology?
Not too much. |
|
The
next example concerns «official sightings by Sovier cosmonauts»,
and «an inside into the secret files of the KGB».
On October 24,
1991, 124 pages of documents were given to the former cosmonaut Pavel Popovitch.
The files contained copies of UFO reports sent to the KGB.
These very important
documents were presented in all seriousness by R.Pinotti, M.Hesemann and
by myself. |
|
|
|
|
| In «The Soviet UFO Files»,
cases from the KGB’s files are presented immediately after the blatant
lie about the cosmonauts.
P. 67.
«From May 14 through May 18, 1981, the two cosmonauts had observed
an unidentified spaceship. …the cosmonauts were able to observe three brown-skinned
beings with slanted bright noses and bushy eyebrows. …While the alien ship
approached the Soviet station, the beings showed them a map… The aliens
had no reaction to Morse code (in either English or Russian).»
There
was «a secret meeting held in Moscow after Kovalenok and Savinikh
came back to Earth. …The film showed that the aliens left their spaceship
without any protective suit, and seemingly had no breathing apparatuses.
They floated next to their craft...»
What
is it? «The Files of Lies» or «The Lies in Files»?
It is clear that the best document
put in this garbage turns into a silly joke. |
|
| But Paul STONEHILL is proud:
-- My book «The Soviet UFO Files»
(Philip Mantle has my gratitude, for without him the book would not have
been possible) was a brief introduction to the history of Soviet ufology.
Source: http://www.ufotoday.bizhosting.com/ntessla.tunguska.htm
As you see, this book is an introduction,
an introduction to the debunking of the Soviet ufology. It is clear that
it is a money making business.
The Soviet UFO Files, was published
in 1998, in English, Czech, and Dutch.
Is it possible to calculate how
many lecturers were duped and will be duped in the future? |
|
The author of “The Soviet UFO Files”
and his consultant presented their fols mysteries as
Yes, it is the Top. The Top of
DEBUNKING.
|
|
The spreading of
lies and rumors is very important for debunkers. That’s why the blatant
lie about our cosmonauts Kovalenok and Savinikh and aliens floating without
any protective suit is now on the site of GREPI (Switzerland). This time
in French.
In my book «OVNIS
en RUSSIE», written in French, I examine this lie in details (p.153-156).
I know Vladimir
Kovalenok, the late ufologist Viktor Voropaev, my good friend, and Viktor
Savinikh were neighbors...
But if the lie
must be spread, it is spread...
Don’t forget that
Stonehill is presented by Mantle as «an established Russian researcher»!
It's a pity you
cannot read in Russian! On my site Stonehill is not forgotten. You could
laugh until you cry. |
|
There must be no place for liars and
debunkers in ufology.

and their silly book “The Soviet UFO

Subject: UFO USSR
Reviewed By Ruth Gardner
Throughout the centuries UFOs hovered over
Russia, and USOs (Unidentified Undersea Objects) lurked in its waters.
This e-book introduces the phenomena of the most important cases, observations,
and sightings. 'UFO-USSR' endeavours to describe efforts of those dedicated
researchers who have stubbornly pursued UFO research in the Russian Empire,
the USSR, and modern Russia.
The evidence in this piece of literature is
extensive both in scope and detail. In its totality, it comprises a body
of evidence written in the style of a Russian, which at the very least
supports the general assessment of describing as fully as possible Soviet
and Russian UFO cases, research areas, prominent personalities involved
in such research (military, intelligence
agencies, and civilians), opinions and viewpoints
of those who were and are serious in their approach to the study of anomalous
phenomena.
Whatever the UFO phenomena is, it is certainly
not a modern invention as this unique history clearly demonstrates. The
history of UFO sightings and contacts over the lands that later
became known as Russia date back thousands
of years. 'UFO-USSR' is not meant to be definitive in any way, but is meant
to show that UFO research has been and still is very active in the former
USSR, and that a vigorous programme of research and serious diplomatic
initiatives is warranted.
The sheer scale of the authors' vision is breathtaking
and I would challenge any non-believer to remain sceptic and walk away
unchanged after absorbing the facts of decades in duration, and
global in nature of there being too many hard
sensor data-points and millions of eyewitnesses to ignore the evidence.
This e-book has been published in the hope that the research and
investigations will enable greater co-operation
between East and West in what some have called 'The Greatest Mystery Known
to Mankind'.
Written by Paul Stonehill and Philip Mantle,
currently 'UFO-USSR' is only available as an e-book from: http://www.filamentbooks.com/
at a cost of $9.99. |
